Before I
start, my name is Carolina Avalos, communicologist by profession, who loves
everything that has to do with communications (except the weather
forecast). I like everything that
expresses something, especially music, art, fashion and I have a true passion
for photography. Even though I like to write,
I consider myself very visual and sometimes that could be a problem
because I add more pictures than text (forgive me if I get carried away).
I spent
several days in the search of what to write about and at the end I decided to
start with clothes, yes I mean who doesn't think about clothes? Sure, because
we never, ever, ever have something to wear!! And is this "need" of
purchase what makes us look everywhere to find the perfect boots, or that bag
that matches with my dress, or that blouse that finally you can wear with the skirt
that you have never used, among many other cases, we always think twice before
we buy something.
Thanks to
all the options that we have in these days, most of the people don't stay with
their arms crossed to see that there is nothing at the mall or simply nothing
worth to pay, but fortunately we have Internet and thrift shops or vintage,
Yes! Thrift shops and the best of all is that most of these shops sell
everything online.
When we
hear the word "Vintage", the first thing we might think about is
polka dots dresses, oversize t-shirts and retro bags, just to mention a few
things. This elements of our wardrobe have become a "must have" in
the recent seasons, because not only they have a unique style, but also they
are very nice and usually a bargain!
One of my
favorite online stores is La Percha, with whom I worked and also belongs to one
of my best friends. La Percha was officially established in 2010 in Monterrey and its goal is
to have the best selection of vintage clothes, and certainly you will never
leave empty handed.
La Percha,
not only sells online, they also organize collective sales and festivals in
different parts of the city, along with art exhibitions, music and fashion. It’s
a brand that doesn’t stop and always keeps working in different things.
Leatherette
jackets, dresses, bags, friendly people, good music, art and be prepared to be
spoiled with food and desserts because that's part of the essence of La Percha,
and thanks to that I have met many good and talented people.
So please
go through their site, and don't miss their track Percha, because they are always
working in different things and events.
Gracias por leernos!
